Hello Heroes,

I'm writing to ask you all if you might be interested in being a part of a show I want to put on at the Hideout this Spring. The concept is basically this: we open up in a futuristic world where there are two main "aliens" who are bored and want to use their holodeck type contraption to summon up music and entertainment images from the 20th century for their amusement. They exchange witty banter and such about the selections they are making and then, of course, we have a platform for performing, in full, realistic and fabulous costumes (which I will provide) popular songs by high profile artists of our generation. The idea is that we will have a DAT type recording in the PA system and you will actually be singing your song along with the recording of the background music (which I will provide).

I am interested in people who have a strong sense for what is funny and unique about the songs and acts that have defined the later 20th century and will be able to use their performance to accentuate that. You will need to be comfortable singing in public (naturally) and be able to really express the qualities about each act that make them funny. I will also need two (three?) actors to play the "aliens" - those individuals would have some input into the script, which I hope we can develop through some Improv sessions. I am planning on running the show for two consecutive nights either in the cabaret or the main stage.

If you are interested please let me know asap - there are a lot of details to be taken care of so I want to get the cast together asap. I truly believe that this show has the potential too be a huge success and I can't imagine it won't be some amazing fun as well. I look forward to hearing from you and, as always, I would appreciate your feedback as well.

Thank you for your time,

Laren?
