Peter's Comments:
Ah, I finally get around to finishing a SongFight song, exactly one week late.

This one was fun to put together musically. There are a lot of 'oh well, let's try this, I guess' improvisations in here, where I quickly threw together a bass line and some backing vocals that would work. I think studying theory is starting to pay off a teeny tiny bit.

I like the chord progression and the main melody, even though the little turn is the same as part of "Goodnight, Hollywood Boulevard." 1 The lyrics, however, are ass. I worked on them for an hour, and then another hour, and then I just suddenly realized that these lyrics just weren't gonna get good. (The phrase 'polishing a turd' came to mind.) So I left them as mediocre as they were and concentrated on developing the arrangement instead.

Ah well. Let's hope that this weekend I can resync to the SongFight title schedule.
