Peter's Comments:
So, for my second week's involvement in SongFight I wrote a song over Thanksgiving. I was planning on getting back to Austin on Monday afternoon, recording it on Monday night, and then sending it in before the Tuesday-morning deadline.

That didn't exactly happen, because I got stuck in the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport for twenty-four hours straight. Anyway, then there was unpacking, and missing the deadline, and getting started on the following week's Songfight. I didn't get around to recording this until Friday night, when I found myself with unexpected free time.

Anyway, here is the song. The harmonies are really screwed-up in places because (1) I have a lot to learn about music theory and (2) I was in too much of a hurry to get it right. I really like the fact that I've written a verse-refrain song instead of verse-chorus, and I barely put in a bridge at all.

The dobro-sounding lead guitar was a (rather unsuccessful) attempt to simulate a 12-string. I thought I'd be able to record a 12-string for this, but didn't end up having time.
