Grocery Bag

Peter's Comments:
Ah, trying to get the ball rolling again. I blame my music teacher for this one; she had a party where everyone had to write songs about random topics in random styles. I squirmed out of the task, but the suggestion of writing "a pop song about packing groceries" wormed its way into my head and then quietly demanded to be written.

The result is just a stylistic retread. In the future I want to get away from such emo-y, maudlin, self-critical lyrics, but I'm happy with the way the melody hops around from key to key (though perhaps not as deftly as one would like). Oh, and the so-mi-do-so-fa figure (first five notes of the chorus) is the same as Matthew Sweet's "We Lose Another Day," but I think I'm doing something kind of different with it.
