Peter's Comments:
Hmm. Well, this was a pleasant surprise.
Okay, so I was reading
that John Lennon songwriting book, and looking at his early songs, and I realized I don't know nearly enough about blues. I had never even tried writing a song around a traditional blues chorrd progression.
So, I figured this week I'd rectify that. Here's what I planned on writing about it: "I've learned a lesson from this song nobody who occasionally reads Jane Austen should try to write a blues song. Ever." But then I got the song written and recorded, and I'm actually pretty happy with it.
Yes, I need to learn to play lead guitar properly, and yes I need to write songs about something besides disintegrating relationships, but hey -- it came out pretty well. There are other bits of good news got the latest version of
n-track (which works better than 3.1.7), rescheduled out the sotw writing duties (never again will I frantically write & record an entire song on Sunday night), and I finally have enough money squared away to buy a copy of Gigastudio (Better MIDI = a horn section in every single song! Whee!!).
