Peter's Comments:
Oh, yuck.
Well, it may appear that I'm steadily losing my incredibly-meager-in-the-first-place ability to write songs, but really I'm losing time. Again, I had about three hours on Sunday night to take care of everything on this one, and I'm (suprise, surprise) dissatisfied with the results.
On this one, I wanted to try to find a different vocal affect from my usual strained emo-boy sincerity, but I can't seem to manage it yet. I'll keep trying. I also wanted to start the song without any of the proper harmonic and rhythmic underpinnings in the instruments (thus the steady wash of fuzzboxed guitar and random drum noises).
I dunno. I guess this might have a good thing here or there to cannibalize, but as I said, I just don't like it. The worst bit was, I managed to get halfway through recording when I realized I had set ntrack's tempo to the wrong (lugubrious) speed. So a song with the potential to be depressing and pathetic got even more depressing and pathetic.
Ah, well. Better luck next week.
