Flying Out

Peter's Comments:
Ugh. So I think I set some kind of record, going from starting to write the song to finishing with recording the song inside of 200 minutes.

I've been listening to a series of lectures about the symphonies of Beethoven, so now my head is all full of 'motoviic development' and similar nonsense. This time, I set myself an exercise of seeing how far I could get with a four-note motive (in this case, those first do-ti-la-so notes), by just sequencing it, repeating it, inverting it and reversing it. Fun fun fun.

But then I realized I needed lyrics, and so had to cough up something fast. (Ack!) Anyway, thank god I finally wrote about something other than Deep Personal Issues, songwriting, or disintegrating relationships. Or llamas.

Again, I wince at the effeteness of my singing voice. But I found a neat wah-wah like effect to throw on to the bass line.
