Lots of technical silliness going on here.

First, I noticed a particular chord change that shows up again and again in the songs on Satellite Rides, and in songs from the Old 97's in general, and I figured I'd give it a test run. I wanted to write a vocal melody with one (1) accidental in it. I tried throwing in some octave-below backing vocals (I've been listening to a little too much Squeeze lately). I successfully loaded another !SoundFont -- the technical song-and-dance of rifling through my sf2 files, and setting up the appropriate one, is getting easier with practice -- and I toyed with percussion, in the form of tapping somewhat rhythmically on the guitar's soundboard.

Oh, yeah, and I tried writing somewhat obfuscated lyrics. I think I'll be content to go back to more direct material. For now, I feel silly ending up with stuff I don't quite understand.
