No Shame Radio Serial
The Format
Four pieces, each four minutes in length.
This probably precludes any silliness that detracts from the plot -- e. g. ads, musical numbers, extremely long fight scenes.
Each piece has to end at some sort of cliffhanger.
This is not a big deal production-wise -- just show up, corral some actors, set up chairs on the stage, and do a reading. Simple as that.
I would like to have a complete 4-part script ready by Friday, May 6.
Schedule'o'Writing
Once we know what we're doing, we could probably polish this off in a couple of nights (three at the most). So odds are we should figure out a topic and perhaps a vague story outline this week, and meet a couple times next week to write it all out.
Possible Genres
I'd like to avoid going back to the Bellydancing Ninjas well for the moment, so getting going on writing this will require sorting out what genre to write in.
Standard Radio-Serial Genres
- Detective Noir (dragnet, etc)
- Spy story
- Science Fiction (the intergalactic nemesis)
- Soap Opera (days of our lives: the early years)
- Vaguely-Lovecraftian Horror
But There Are Other Possibilities
Modern-day Realism
- A nuclear plant?
Some Titles that Intrigue Me
- Elvis in Space
- Killer Robots
- God vs. Tim
- The Ramones vs. Godzilla
