Break Time, a Blocked Turn, and the Come Around
Break Time
- 1 & 2: as normal
3: Step forward on left
- Carry your weight with you
Don't sink into your front knee
- Stay vertical.
- 4: Hold on left
- 5-8: as normal
Or, alternately:
- 1-6: as normal
- 7: Step back on right, with weight, etc.
- 8: Hold
- ... and then back to normal
Blocked Turn
1-4: as per the tuck turn
- 1-2: Balboa-style 'rock step'
- 3: Hold, blocking left-hand-to-right-hand
- 4: Step on to left, which sends the follow rotating clockwise
5: Block the follow's left hand with your left hand.
- This should send her back the other way (counterclockwise)
6, 7, 8: Step (right), step (left), step (right)
- Begin catching the follow on 7
- Don't consciously rotate
- ... then back to the basic
Come Around
- 1: Back on left
2: Together on right
- Open slightly to the left
3: Step on left
- Bring weight with you
"Tuck in" towards the follow
- Note that this is a slight clockwise rotation
- 4: Hold
5-6: Step (right), step (left)
Continue the slight clockwise rotation
- Note that you don't have to (and shouldn't) deliberately do this.
- 7: Hold
- 8: Step (right)
- ... then back to the basic
