Micetro Score Board
Right now, the score board is built on a sheet of plywood suspended from the rafters by a chain. On the front of the board is a set of magnetic strips for each players name and a progress indicator.
Problems:
- The position of the board blocks a good deal of the stage from the audience
- The chain appartus takes time to set up
- The chain allows the board to swing freely like a pendulum, which sometimes causes markers to fall
- The magnets are weak and the markers fall quite often
- It's difficult to read the score from many angles
- We never seem to have the right nametags, so people have to be someone they are not (or "Satan")
- Some people think the board could look more professional
Several ideas have been proposed
Board on the Wall
Advocated by TedRutherford
, SeanHill
and ShanaMerlin
, this idea has the board
permanently or semi-permantely mounted to the either the north or south wall
of the cabaret.
Retractable Ceiling Board
Have the board be attached to the ceiling, but easily lowered with a pulley or some other simple mechanism. It might be possible to combine this with the above idea.
Dry Erase Board Nametags
ShanaMerlin
suggested this idea so that there can be every name imaginable.
Also nice for when guest players visit. However, TedRutherford
pointed out
that, due to the nature of the The Hideout, the dry erase markers will eventually
all disappear.
Removable Micetro Board
Obviously we'll eventually be moving somewhere else with Micetro, so it might be a good idea to have someway to easily unmount the board and move it downstairs, or to another venue. This proposal is not incompatbile with the "Board on the Wall" idea above.
Always Have a Backup
Whatever solution is arrived at, it might behoove us to buy a chalkboard and a stand, just to have in storage in case the 'real' Micetro board is somehow rendered unusable. (Peter)
