The Power of Promotion
This did show us the power of getting people to the show with promotion.
Some good things:
- Creating a good flyer 1

- Telling your friends. Telling your drinking friends. :)
- It got us off our collective butts and we made it happen
- ?
The Point of the Show
Honestly, I found Improp a little gimmicky. I thought we didn't know the reason why that show had to be done (besides getting us more stage time :) ). I don't mean to be terribly pretentious, but I think the Lab Show should be something that:
- Is in some way fundamentally different from 'normal' improv shows
- Has a strong chance of completely failing
- ?
Improp just felt like a typical old-school Rookie Show, with gratuitous use of objects.
(Bob) I would've have enjoyed it more if it felt more like a group effort. I think it needs to be planned or discussed more in advance so everyone involved has some creative input before we start rehearsals.
I think for future Lab Shows, when we have a concept, we should figure out what is cool and different about that show, and figure out how to choose or create sketches and concepts that take that quality as far as it will go.
Future Improp
Is Shana interested in putting on another Improp show? If so, what could we do better in future incarnations of Improp?
- Better stage layout
- Less random props (we should be able to come onstage as the Village People if need be)
